The singer will share the stage with Madonna, Shakira and K-pop sensation BTS during the tournament’s first-ever Super Bowl-style half-time spectacle.

The highly anticipated 11-minute performance is being staged in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aiming to raise $100 million (£73 million) to improve educational opportunities for children worldwide.

Bieber Returns to the Global Stage

The announcement marks another major live appearance for Bieber following his return to the stage earlier this year at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.

The performance was his biggest live show in four years after he cancelled his Justice World Tour due to health concerns. During his Coachella set, the singer performed several of his classic hits, including Baby, Never Say Never, One Time and Beauty and a Beat.

Speaking about the World Cup event, Bieber said: “The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can.”

Global Stars Unite for a Good Cause

The half-time show has been curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay and is expected to be one of the biggest entertainment moments of the tournament.

Additional performers include Nigerian superstar Burna Boy, Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus and the beloved Sesame Street characters.

Shakira and Burna Boy, who helped launch the tournament in North America, will also reunite on stage to perform their global hit, Dai Dai, which has become one of the defining anthems of the competition.

World Cup Drama Continues

The 2026 FIFA World Cup began on 11 June and has been the biggest tournament in history, featuring 48 teams competing across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Although the three host nations have been eliminated, eight teams remain in the race for football’s biggest prize.

Quarter-final action resumes with France facing Morocco in Boston, while Spain meet Belgium in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Norway will take on England in Miami, and defending champions Argentina face Switzerland in Kansas City.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi currently leads the Golden Boot race with eight goals, followed closely by Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland on seven goals each, while Harry Kane has scored six times.
