The tournament will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

Shakira shared the news in a video on her official Instagram page on May 20 while talking about the official World Cup song, Dai Dai, featuring Nigerian Afrobeats artist Burna Boy.

“I’ve already invited the Ghetto Kids from Uganda,” she said, praising fans worldwide for their dance videos inspired by the song.

Shakira said she wants the World Cup final performance to be “special” and “unforgettable” and encouraged fans around the world to keep sharing their dance videos online.

“I’ve seen amazing videos for Dai Dai, the official World Cup song,” she said. “I’d love to see more, so please keep sending them because I’ll be watching closely.”

The song mixes Afrobeats, dance-pop, reggaetón, and world music styles, reflecting the global nature of the tournament.

Royalties from the song will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million by the end of the event to improve education and football opportunities for children worldwide.

The Ghetto Kids, formed in 2014 by Dauda Kavuma, come from the Katwe slums in Kampala, Uganda.

They first gained global attention after their dance video for Eddy Kenzo’s song Sitya Loss went viral. Since then, they have appeared in French Montana’s Unforgettable music video and performed as part of events related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

In 2023, the group also received a Golden Buzzer during their appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.
