Premier League Champions Add Versatile Attacker From Club Brugge
Arsenal have completed the signing of Greece international forward Christos Tzolis from Belgian club Club Brugge in a deal worth £34 million.
The Premier League champions described the 24-year-old as an “extremely versatile attacking player” and confirmed he has signed a long-term contract with the club.
Tzolis arrives in north London after an impressive spell in Belgium, where he established himself as one of the league’s most productive attacking players.
He scored 43 goals and provided 45 assists in 108 appearances for Club Brugge.
Arsenal Strengthen Attack
The transfer comes after Arsenal recently saw Belgian forward Leandro Trossard leave for Turkish side Besiktas.
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta praised Tzolis’ technical ability, versatility, and attacking qualities.
He said the Greek forward can operate naturally from the left wing but is also capable of playing across the front line.
Berta highlighted Tzolis’ finishing ability with both feet, his confidence in tight spaces, and his creativity in the final third.
He added that the forward’s goals and assists record over recent seasons would improve Arsenal’s attacking options while bringing energy and a strong mentality to the squad.
Tzolis Excited to Work With Arteta
Tzolis revealed that he had a positive conversation with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta before completing the move.
The forward said they discussed the club’s ambitions, Arteta’s plans, and his role within the team.
He described himself as a direct attacking player who wants to create goals and provide assists for teammates.
Tzolis also emphasised his willingness to work hard defensively and contribute in all areas of the pitch.
“I’m always hungry to score or give the final pass,” he said.
Career Revival After Norwich Struggles
Tzolis began his professional career at Greek club PAOK before moving to Norwich City in 2021.
However, his time in England was challenging, with the forward scoring only three goals in 30 appearances between 2021 and 2024.
He later rebuilt his confidence during loan spells at FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf.
His breakthrough came during his time in Germany, where he scored 24 goals in 35 matches for Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining Club Brugge.
Impressive Numbers in Belgium
At Club Brugge, Tzolis developed into one of Europe’s most promising attacking players.
During the 2025-26 season, he contributed directly to 40 league goals, scoring 17 times and providing 23 assists as Club Brugge won the Belgian league title.
He also created more chances than any other player in Belgium’s top division, while recording impressive numbers for dribbling and attacking progression.
The Greek forward also performed on the European stage, scoring against Champions League opponents including Atalanta and Atletico Madrid, while assisting against Barcelona.
With his ability to play multiple attacking positions and create chances from open play and set pieces, Arsenal believe Tzolis can add another dimension to their squad as they look to compete for more trophies.
