Two children and a woman have been injured following an incident involving a fairground ride in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Emergency services were called to the Maltby Crags Fair on Friday evening after the incident, prompting organisers to close the fair early.
South Yorkshire Police said three people, aged 11, 13 and 21, were taken to hospital for treatment. The force said the full extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
Blyth Lane was temporarily closed between Muglet Lane and Victoria Road to allow people to leave the fairground safely. The road has since reopened.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed that two children were taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital after emergency crews arrived at the fair at around 18:50 BST.
Two ambulances and three rapid response vehicles were dispatched to the scene to assist those injured.
Authorities have not yet provided further details about what happened on the ride, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
The incident occurred as the fair was operating in the South Yorkshire town, with emergency services responding quickly to treat those affected.
