Sicily is preparing for one of the most glamorous celebrity events of the year as newlyweds Dua Lipa and Callum Turner arrive for an extravagant post-wedding celebration expected to attract international attention.
The British celebrity couple, who officially tied the knot in London on May 31, are set to host a luxurious two-day party in Palermo and Bagheria on Sicily’s northwest coast this weekend. Reports suggest the exclusive celebration could feature around 200 VIP guests.
Paparazzi and international media have already descended on Palermo after the couple were spotted at the luxury five-star Villa Igiea hotel. Videos shared online showed the Grammy-winning singer relaxing with Turner ahead of the festivities.
Rumours surrounding the event continue to grow, with speculation that music legend Elton John could attend and that Dua Lipa may wear up to 26 different outfits throughout the celebrations.
Festivities are expected to begin in Palermo’s historic centre before moving to the famous Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria, an 18th-century Baroque estate known for hosting luxury weddings and film productions.
Italian media also reported that the luxury yacht “Nero” has docked in Palermo harbour and may be used to transport guests between celebration venues during the weekend.
Local authorities have already closed several roads and public areas as preparations intensify. Officials say florists, chefs and event staff have been hired in large numbers for the highly anticipated celebration.
The couple previously spent time together in Palermo last year, sharing moments from their Sicilian getaway on social media, where they explored the city’s streets, enjoyed seafood cuisine and relaxed on boats along the coast.
