Kretschy

The 2026 edition of the Tour du Rwanda has officially concluded, crowning Germany’s Moritz Kretschy as overall champion after an impressive tactical performance across 997.8km.

Kretschy completed the race in 23:08:48, securing victory without winning an individual stage. Backed strongly by his NSN Development Team, he built and defended a two-minute lead over fellow German rider Johannes Adamietz.

The final stage was claimed by Eritrea’s Henok Mulubrhan, while Rwanda’s Samuel Niyonkuru finished 16th overall, emerging as the top local rider.

Kretschy took control of the yellow jersey after stage four in Rubavu and maintained his lead through disciplined teamwork and smart race management until the final finish line.
