Police in the United Kingdom have arrested four men suspected of assisting Iran’s intelligence service as part of a counter-terrorism investigation.

The arrests were carried out by Metropolitan Police Service, which said the suspects include one Iranian national and three dual British-Iranian citizens.

Authorities say the investigation is linked to alleged surveillance activities targeting locations and individuals connected to Jewish communities in London.

The suspects, aged between 22 and 55, were arrested during coordinated operations in several areas including Barnet, Watford, and Wembley.

Police also arrested six additional men in Harrow on suspicion of assisting an offender. All ten individuals are currently in police custody while investigations continue.

Commander Helen Flanagan of Counter Terrorism Policing London said the arrests are part of a long-running effort to disrupt suspected hostile activities linked to foreign intelligence operations.

The suspects were detained under the National Security Act 2023, which was introduced to strengthen the country’s ability to combat foreign interference and espionage.

Officials say searches at several addresses are ongoing while investigators examine evidence connected to the case.
