A traditional Ghanaian smock was given to Lesothos Tourism Minister as part of efforts to celebrate African culture and build stronger tourism relationships.
A group from Ghana including people from Kacstone Records and the Sister Kingdom Network gave the smock to Mputi Steven Mputi at the Lesotho Tourism Pitso in Maseru. The two-day event, which took place on September 16 and 17 gathered people involved in tourism and culture from Lesotho and other African nations.
The talks were about boosting tourism sharing culture and working together across the continent. The gift showed the culture of Northern Ghana. Showed how heritage can help promote tourism and connections between African countries.
The Ghanaian group had Wenawome Aborah Duriyem, the Managing Director of Kacstone Records Dr Tengol K. Kplemani, the Supreme Leader of the Sister Kingdom Network and Alexander Naaga Bombande the Public Relations Officer of Kacstone Records.
Mr Duriyem also said more young people should take part more culture should be shared and more countries should work together to help African tourism grow. Lesotho wants money from outside to help its tourism industry and people in the industry are working to make the country a top travel spot.
Minister Mputi said Lesotho has a tourism system pointing out its mountains, history and the friendly way the Basotho people treat visitors. Mantiti Khabo, the Principal Secretary also welcomed groups, including those, from Ghana and Mozambique. She said their presence showed that Africans are ready to work on tourism, arts and culture.
