Rachel Kolisi is encouraging women to embrace joy, rest and vulnerability as she reflects on motherhood, healing and personal growth in a candid conversation on The Anele Podcast – Her & Now.

Speaking alongside Anele Mdoda and Cindy Poluta, Kolisi shared that motherhood in 2026 remains a constant learning journey, with no fixed guidebook for balancing children, identity and life pressures.

She described the experience as emotionally demanding but also deeply transformative, noting that many women silently carry the pressure of trying to be “perfect” mothers while navigating their own personal struggles.

The conversation touched on generational trauma, emotional resilience and the importance of creating space for honesty and healing. Kolisi emphasised that motherhood is not something to master, but something that evolves with time and experience.

Her reflections also connect to her recent Falling Forward Roadshow, which travelled across five cities in South Africa, offering women a space to share experiences around divorce, grief, career changes and reinvention.

She highlighted the importance of financial independence, particularly for women in vulnerable or abusive relationships, calling it a critical part of long-term empowerment.

Above all, Kolisi said she has learned to embrace softness, reminding women that they are allowed to experience joy and peace even while carrying responsibility and challenges.
