Rema on stage

Nigerian star Rema has reached a major milestone on the Billboard charts, as his debut album Rave & Roses extends its run to 170 weeks on the Billboard World Albums Chart — making it the longest-charting African album in the chart’s history.

The project surpassed the previous record of 164 weeks set by Wizkid’s Made In Lagos. The achievement further cements Rema’s global impact and the growing international influence of Afrobeats.

Other notable African projects with extended chart runs include TemsBorn In The Wild (79 weeks), Burna Boy’s Love, Damini (63 weeks), and the late Fela Kuti’s The Best Of The Black President (45 weeks).

In addition, Rema secured his second Billboard Hot 100 entry this week with “Secondhand” alongside Don Toliver, debuting at No. 29.

Meanwhile, Tems also entered the Hot 100 with “What You Need,” bringing her total to seven entries — a joint African record shared with Burna Boy and South African rock band Seether.
