Least 12 people have died after a fire started during a wedding celebration in Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The fire happened during the night between Friday and Saturday. Officials said they are still working to figure out who the victims are.
Videos shared on media showed big groups of people trying to get out through a very small staircase as the fire spread quickly through the building.
This event has made the government decide to put rules in place for places that hold public events. The Communications Ministry said they will check these places carefully and any place that does not follow safety rules will be closed away.
The reason for the fire has not been found yet.
In Kinshasa problems with electrical systems are often the cause of fires and people have worried about building safety and electrical safety before.
The government has not said if the place where the fire happened had been checked for safety recently or if there were any issues before this happened.
This sad event has brought focus on how ready people are for emergencies and the safety rules, at places where many people gather in the busy capital city.
Officials plan to share details as they keep trying to identify people and look into what happened.
