During the conversation, Thusi spoke candidly about the trauma she witnessed growing up and how her parents’ troubled marriage deeply affected her perspective on relationships. The actress revealed that her father, despite being a good parent in some ways, was abusive toward her mother, something she says left emotional scars that still impact her today.

According to Thusi, her parents had a very toxic and unstable relationship, and for years she blamed her father for her mother’s death. She emotionally explained that seeing her mother suffer while married made her fearful of marriage itself. The actress shared disturbing memories of incidents where her father allegedly accused her mother of wrongdoing and reacted aggressively, including taking her into isolated areas and threatening her with a gun.

The actress admitted that those painful experiences created a lasting fear of marriage in her life. She explained that part of her believes her mother might still be alive if she had not remained in such a difficult relationship. For a long time, she carried feelings of anger and resentment toward her father because of the emotional pain her mother endured.

Thusi also reflected on modern relationships and why she has chosen to stay single for an extended period. The “Queen Sono” star explained that some of her past romantic relationships left her emotionally traumatized, making it difficult for her to fully trust people again. She stated that she now approaches relationships with extreme caution because she does not want to relive painful experiences from her past.

Although she said she is not completely against the idea of marriage, Thusi admitted she feels more connected to the idea of having a wedding than actually being married. She suggested that many women are conditioned to see weddings as an important milestone in life, even when marriage itself may come with emotional challenges and responsibilities.

The actress further revealed that she now believes relationships should involve clear agreements and boundaries. She joked about needing contracts in relationships but explained that trauma can make people more protective of themselves emotionally. According to her, trust has become something she takes very seriously after everything she has experienced in her personal life.

Her comments quickly sparked conversations on social media, with many people praising her honesty and vulnerability. Others shared their own experiences with trauma, unhealthy family relationships, and fears surrounding commitment and marriage.

Thusi’s emotional interview has once again highlighted the growing conversations around mental health, emotional healing, toxic relationships, and the long-term effects childhood experiences can have on adulthood and personal relationships.
