Hiplife Founder, Reggie Rockstone, has publicly expressed his support for Wendy Shay against the rest of the nominees for Artiste of the Year at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Award taking place on May 9th, 2026.
Although the nominees have each made very nice strides, the last thing he wants to see happen is for Wendy Shay to win this award simply because a win for her would be a great win and an inspirational moment for the whole industry.
He also applauded Medikal, who has put in much work in the past year. In a very competitive category this year, Wendy Shay will have to compete against the current nominee in Medikal, Black Sherif, Diana Hamilton, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie. Wendy Shay or Medikal have not won this award in the past.
Black Sherif and Diana Hamilton each won Artiste of the Year once. Stonebwoy and Sarkodie have won this award two times each.
