The news of her passing was confirmed by her former G.R.L. bandmates Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen, who paid tribute to the singer in a heartfelt joint statement shared on Instagram.

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us,” the group said.

“We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts.”

The cause of Bennett’s death has not been disclosed, and reports indicate that an inquest is expected to take place.

Born in Meopham, Kent, England, Bennett began pursuing music as a teenager and steadily built a career in the entertainment industry. She first gained recognition after joining the girl group Paradiso Girls in 2007 before later embarking on a solo career.

Throughout her career, she collaborated with several major artists, including CeeLo Green and will.i.am, showcasing her versatility as a singer and songwriter.

However, it was in 2011 that Bennett achieved worldwide fame after lending her vocals to LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem. The energetic dance track became a global phenomenon, topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six consecutive weeks and becoming one of the defining pop songs of the decade.

Following the success of Party Rock Anthem, Bennett joined the girl group G.R.L., which went on to release popular songs such as Ugly Heart, Vacation and Wild Wild Love alongside rapper Pitbull.

The group experienced immense success but also faced heartbreaking tragedy in 2014 following the death of fellow member Simone Battle at the age of 25. In tribute to Battle, G.R.L. released the emotional single Lighthouse and partnered with a mental health awareness campaign before eventually disbanding in 2015.

Over the years, Bennett reunited with her former bandmates on various occasions while continuing to pursue her own music career. She released solo songs including Reality and Hurricane and later explored a different sound by forming a country, folk and blues duo with her brother, Ryan Bennett.

According to reports, Bennett’s final social media post was shared in February and featured her performing a cover of the classic song These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.

Beyond her musical achievements, Bennett was also a devoted mother. She is survived by her six-year-old daughter, Harlow, whom she welcomed in 2019 with dancer and actor Kenny Wormald.

Tributes have continued to pour in from fans and fellow musicians around the world, with many remembering Bennett for her talent, warmth and the lasting impact she made on the music industry.
