Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly been moved to solitary confinement at a federal prison in New Jersey following an alleged altercation with another inmate.

According to reports, the incident happened at the FCI Fort Dix facility after another prisoner allegedly taunted the 56-year-old music executive. The disagreement reportedly escalated from a verbal exchange into physical confrontation before correctional officers stepped in and separated the two inmates.

Sources cited by US media outlet TMZ claimed that Combs was involved in shoving and punches during the incident. Following the confrontation, prison officials reportedly transferred him to the Special Housing Unit, commonly known as solitary confinement, while they review what happened.

The reported fight could affect Combs’ prison privileges and any benefits linked to good behaviour during his sentence. Prison authorities have not publicly confirmed details of the incident or announced any disciplinary action.

Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted in a high-profile criminal case in 2025. A jury acquitted him of charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy but found him guilty on two counts involving transportation for prostitution.

Reports previously suggested that his behaviour while incarcerated had been positive, with possible reductions linked to good conduct. However, any disciplinary violation could affect his standing with prison officials.

The move to solitary confinement would mean stricter restrictions while officials investigate the alleged incident. Inmates placed in the Special Housing Unit typically face limits on personal belongings, communication privileges and recreational activities.

For Combs, whose career was built on success in the music industry and business, the reported incident represents another challenge during his time in prison.

Despite his legal troubles, his family has continued to support him. His children have spoken publicly about maintaining a close relationship with their father while he serves his sentence.

His daughter Jessie Combs said the family remains united and described her father as someone who continues to provide guidance and support despite being away.

Combs’ legal representatives have not released a public statement about the alleged prison fight. Authorities are expected to determine whether further action will be taken following their review of the incident.

The music entrepreneur, known for building one of hip-hop’s most successful entertainment brands, now faces possible consequences inside the prison system as officials examine the circumstances surrounding the reported confrontation.
