South African influencer and businesswoman Nadia Jaftha has joked that she may be entering her “Bridezilla” era as she begins making decisions for her upcoming wedding.
Jaftha, who is engaged to her business partner Reece Meyer, recently opened up about the reality of planning their wedding and admitted that the process has already started to feel overwhelming.
The couple got engaged in Bali last year, and Jaftha has revealed that they are set to tie the knot this year. While she is excited about the big day, she admitted that she had never really imagined what her wedding would look like.
In a video shared on social media, Jaftha said she was only now beginning to realise how many decisions she would have to make before walking down the aisle.
“I never thought about what my wedding day was going to look like. I never thought about what my wedding dress would look like… I never thought about any of that,” she said.
She explained that she is now faced with making choices about everything from the overall aesthetic to the flowers and other details of the celebration.
Jaftha also admitted that she and Meyer may not have given themselves enough time to organise everything.
“We do have people helping but ultimately, I still have to make decisions,” she said.
The influencer jokingly highlighted her uncertainty over even the simplest wedding choices, saying she did not know what colour flowers she wanted.
Her comments sparked the light-hearted “Bridezilla” reference, a term commonly used to describe a bride-to-be who becomes extremely demanding or difficult while planning a wedding.
However, Jaftha appeared to be taking the pressure in good humour rather than seriously embracing the label.
Despite the stress, wedding planning marks another major step in Jaftha and Meyer’s relationship. The pair’s engagement in Bali last year was a significant moment for the couple, and they are now preparing to celebrate their marriage with family, friends and loved ones.
Jaftha’s honesty about the planning process also reflects the reality many couples face when organising a wedding. From choosing a dress and venue to deciding on flowers, colours and the overall atmosphere, couples can quickly find themselves having to make countless decisions.
For Jaftha, having people assisting with the preparations may make the process easier, but she still expects to have the final say on many of the important details.
As the wedding approaches, fans can expect to see more glimpses of the preparations as Jaftha and Meyer work towards their big day.
For now, the influencer is embracing the excitement, uncertainty and pressure that come with planning a wedding — even if it means she occasionally worries about becoming a “Bridezilla”.
