The singer will headline the final night of Ndlala Grandeur II at Ndlala Arena in Pretoria on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Star-studded R&B line-up

Tyrese’s appearance forms part of a three-day celebration of R&B music featuring several major artists.

RL, Mýa, Zonke Dikana, Ginuwine, Case and Vusi Nova are also scheduled to perform throughout the weekend.

However, Sunday’s programme will centre on Tyrese as he takes the stage for the event’s closing performance.

A career spanning decades

Tyrese has spent more than 25 years building a successful career in both music and Hollywood.

Before becoming widely known for his roles in the Fast & Furious and Transformers franchises, he established himself as an R&B artist.

His platinum-selling debut and albums including 2000 Watts, I Wanna Go There and Black Rose helped cement his place in the genre.

Fans prepare for live performance

Tyrese also strengthened his musical legacy through the R&B supergroup TGT, alongside Ginuwine and Tank.

His Pretoria performance will give South African fans an opportunity to experience his catalogue live, with organisers promising an evening of R&B, nostalgia and memorable performances.

For fans who have been waiting to see the American star in South Africa, his appearance marks the fulfilment of a long-awaited wish.
